The 9th Istanbul Bunker Conference took place between May 25 and 27, 2025, at Çırağan Palace in Istanbul. Organized by the Turkish Bunker Association (TBA), the event brought together more than 280 professionals from 146 companies around the world.
The conference started with a welcome reception at Mandarin Bosphorus Hotel, sponsored by Alkagesta Ltd. It continued with panel sessions that addressed current and future issues in marine fuels and bunker markets. The first day was ended up with glorious SOCAR’s Gala Dinner.

IBIA’s Role in the Changing Bunker Market:
IBIA Chairman Constantinos Capetanakis and board members discussed the organization’s global role in supporting cleaner and more efficient bunker practices. -
CEO & COO Panel:
Moderated by TBA Chairman Mustafa Muhtaroğlu, the session hosted CEOs from XO Shipping, Kairos Oil Trading, and Minerva Bunkering to share strategic views on market dynamics.

The event positioned Istanbul as a central hub for dialogue on sustainable fuel strategies, regulatory changes, and maritime collaboration.
