Solstad Offshore Secures New Two-Year Contract with Subsea7 for Normand Subsea Vessel Solstad Offshore Secures New Two-Year Contract with Subsea7 for Normand Subsea Vessel

The incident occurred at Ahırkapı Anchorage, where the Jag was receiving fuel from the vessel Gokdeniz. KEGM has not disclosed the volume of the spill but confirmed that it deployed response vessels, including KEGM-3, KEGM-4, a tugboat, and an environmental barge.

AIS data shows the Jag had been waiting off Turkey before the bunkering operation. The vessel, built in 2005, has changed ownership multiple times and has been registered under Liberia since 2023. It is currently managed by Rhine Marine Services, based in India. The 70,400 dwt tanker has made several calls in Russia, including a voyage last October from Primorsk to Brazil’s Paranagua port.

The Jag has a history of deficiencies. Its last recorded inspection in 2023 took place in Aqaba, Jordan, where it was detained for two days due to 12 deficiencies, including an inoperative emergency generator, non-compliant fire doors, and cleanliness issues in the engine room. The vessel’s three prior inspections, all in Russia, also reported deficiencies.

KEGM has not provided further details on today’s incident. AIS data shows the tanker remains anchored off Istanbul.
